Our residence is in a family neighborhood near all types of food stores, pharmacies, restaurants and banks, all within a few minutes by car. Our residences will experience a Nikkei environment, offering Japanese meals, a Japanese garden, nearby restaurants and access to the East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center (ESGVJC). The ESGVJC provides an enjoyable and accessible Asian experience. There are regular Japanese exhibits, special events including festivals, performances, and craft fairs, as well as cultural and seniors’ programs.　 We believe that care should be age and culture appropriate and that activities of daily living should be consistent with normal and routine rhythms of others in the same age group. Furthermore, Nagomi Home will continuously develop new and innovative systems and techniques to prolong each resident’s ability to live a dignified life as they continue to relate to their families and loved ones. We value Independence, Respect, Dignity, Privacy and Choice. These are the cornerstones our program offers the elderly as they face lifestyle changes that are a natural part of aging. Many physicians do not or are unable to follow resident after they enter a long-term care due to distance or insurance reimbursement issues. If you would like, we have physicians who visit our facility frequently who are very experienced and knowledgeable. We would be happy to assist you in transitioning your loved one’s care to one of our in-house physicians, depending on resident’s insurance carrier. This helps to prevent the disruption that may occur if the resident has an offsite appointment. Our staff will stay with the resident during the appointment. If due to a potential behavior problem, an additional staff must go along with the resident. Residents are at risk for weight loss or would benefit from supplemental food and fluids are given snacks with names on them.
